The latest version of Handbrake takes any sort of video input, not just dvds. This means even idiots like me, who have struggled mightily to transcode videos of all sorts in to something delicious for my iPhone, now have the ability at the click of a button. I'm headed back to London in a couple weeks! I'm going to help out on a project for three weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas. They're going to put me up in a flat near the office in an area called Clerkenwell (or something like that), which is sweet. MUNI is the light rail and bus system in San Francisco. When I'm working in our SF office, I can actually take public transit to work, so I take advantage of that. Without factoring in wear and tear on my car, when I go to our main office in Palo Alto it currently costs me about $12 a day to drive (just over two gallons of gas and a $4 bridge toll ( Read more... )

I'd like to know how on earth my aloe plant ended up smashed to my deck. All the rest of the crap in my backyard is untouched, so I don't think it was an intruder.
